RULE, AKSDO seal wins in MNCA Superplate Tournament

RULE and AKSDO notched up victories in the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 on Wednesday.
RULE outplayed UCC by 4 wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Opting to held first, RULE bowled out their opponents for 173 as Nongthombam Sa-rojkumar turned out to be the chief destroyer with an impressive haul of five wickets, while Jay Singh and Rojit Angomcha chipped in with two scalps apiece.
UCC's innings, Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (34), Surai (30) and Laishram Roshan (27) were the main run-getters.
In reply, RULE achieved the target in 34.3 overs as Jay Singh led the way with an unbeaten 72, with Leishangthem Bishorjit (39), Rajkumar Herachandra (13) and Manikhomba Sanjenbam (10) also contributing in double figures.
In the process, they lost six wickets, two to Thokchom Yoihanba and one each to Laishram Roshan, Laishram Bhuson, Konsam Gulson and Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam.
AKSDO, meanwhile, beat Al-Ameen by 15 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Electing to bat, AKSDO posted a modest total of 157/9, with contributions from Akash Laishram (50), Saikhom Kaiku Meetei (33), Winchelly Laishram (15), Bishorjit Mangang (11) and Prameshwor Moirangthem.
For Al-Ameen, Najarul Islam leading wicket-taker with four scalps.
Chasing 158, Al-Ameen struggled against AKSDO's disciplined bowling attack and fell short, being dismissed for 142 in 35 overs.
Md Safwan Khan (33) and FM Sakil Ahamed (22) were the only notable performers in Al-Ameen's futile run chase.
In AKSDO's triumph, Rohit Laishram, Saikhom Lanchenba and Sanayai Ningthoujam each picked up two, while Akash Laishram, Saikhom Kaiku and Winchelly Laishram added one each.
