All MCS Tennis Tournament 2025 underway

Imphal, May 09 2025: The All Manipur Civil Services Tennis Tournament 2025, organised by the All Manipur Civil Services Tennis Association (AMCSTA), kicked off on Friday at the Officers' Club, Lamphelpat.

As many as 24 players from nine government departments - Manipur Secretariat, RD&PR, Health, Water Resources, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Sericulture, Land Resources, MSPDCL, and the Manipur High Court-are competing in the three-day event, which concludes on May 11, 2025 .

The opening day featured matches for the team championship.

Six teams competed, with the Health Department (A) - represented by Dr Ribhaskar Thoudam, Dr N Sunny, and L Binoy - defeating Manipur Secretariat's team of T Pamei, Md Azad Khan, and T Chingthangkhomba 2-1 in the final.

Men's open singles matches also commenced, with N Mickey Pao, T Chingthangkhomba, N Robindro, Dr E Nelson, Md Azad Khan, Th Shantikumar, and Lanjoy Thoudam progressing to the second round.

Dr Biju S advanced via walkover.

Men's open doubles matches will commence on Saturday (May 10), while the remaining singles matches continue.

Nine top performers will be selected to represent the Government of Manipur in the forthcoming All India Civil Services Tennis Tournament.

The venue is yet to be announced by the Government of India.
