CYLC, YOSC, ESU, MC register wins in State Basketball Championship

Imphal, August 06 2025: CYLC, YOSC, ESU, and Model Club emerging victorious on the fourth day of the 38th State Sub Junior and 15th Junior Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls, 2025, underway at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.

In the junior boys' category, CYLC defeated Youth Club with a commanding performance, securing a 53-38 victory.

Despite Youth Club's spirited third-quarter effort (20 points), CYLC held a steady lead across all quarters, notably taking the first (14-12) and second (8-18) with confidence.

Their consistent scoring and disciplined defence sealed the win.

In the sub-junior girls' event, YOSC completely outclassed LMYVA with a dominant 30-3 win.

YOSC's players showcased excellent teamwork, overpowering their opponents quarter after quarter.

The team led 6-1 in the opening period and never looked back, shutting out LMYVA in the second (6-0), third (12-2) and fourth (6-0) quarters.

Meanwhile, ESU clinched a low-scoring yet decisive 31-13 victory over DSWC in the junior girls' competition.

The ESU side built an early lead (12-0 in the first quarter) and maintained their momentum throughout, as DSWC struggled to penetrate their defence.

ESU's players demonstrated strong fundamentals and control under pressure.

In the opening match of the day, Model Club outpaced ESU 55-43 in the junior boys' match.

Model Club took early control, matching ESU in the opening quarter with a 20-14 lead.

Despite a spirited fight from ESU, who tried to close the gap in the second quarter, Model Club maintained their dominance with another 20-point haul, taking a ten-point lead into half-time.

ESU struggled to find rhythm in the third quarter, managing only 11 points to Model Club's 4 .

Although ESU attempted a comeback in the final quarter with an 8-point push, Model Club sealed the win with an 11-point finish, ending the match at 55-43 .
