Manipur claim 15 medals at NE powerlifting championship 2025

Imphal, May 04 2025: Manipur's athletes ended their campaign with 15 medals at the 19th North East India Men and Women Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2025, held from May 1-3 in Silchar, Assam.

The state team won three gold, eight silver and four bronze medals during the course of the competition.

The top finishers for Manipur were Thangjam Leima Chanu (women's classic 76kg), Thangjam Leima Chanu (women's equipped 76kg) and Wakambam Serabanu (women's equipped 84kg).Among the medallists included Hanjabam Hritikraj Sharma (silver medals in both men's classic 74kg and equipped events), Maibam Gulubi (silver in both women's classic 57kg and equipped), Maimom Nena (silver and bronze in women's equipped 76kg and classic), Sinam Christina (silver and bronze in women's classic 63kg and equipped), Yumkhaibam Fajilatun (silver in women's classic 69kg), Topper Athokpam (silver in men's equipped 66kg), Maibamcha Birjit (bronze in men's equipped 66kg) and Tensubam Sovini (bronze in women's equipped 69kg) .
