MUGHSS, St Paul's to clash in U-17 final as St Joseph's, St Paul's set up U-15 showdown

Imphal, May 24 2025: MUGHSS and St Paul's Higher Secondary School will face off in the U-17 boys' final of the Chandel District Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2025, while St Joseph's High School will take on St Paul's High School in the U-15 boys' title decider.

In the first U-17 semifinal on Saturday, MUGHSS delivered a commanding 5-1 victory over SEMHSS.

HB Bewari broke the deadlock in the 8th minute, with Hormi adding a second just two minutes later.

Thugningam extended the lead to 3-1 in the 42nd minute before HL Shelpa's own goal gave SEMHSS a brief lifeline.

However, Shelny Teshong sealed the win with a fourth goal in the 62nd minute, sending MUGHSS comfortably through to the final.

The second semifinal saw St Paul's Hr Sec School prevail in a tense penalty shootout, defeating St Peter's Hr Sec School 6-5 after a goalless draw.

Franklin, Richard, Bishourjit, Rengjoy, Kumringngam, and Lungir held their nerve from the spot to secure a hard-fought victory over their determined opponents.

Meanwhile, in the U-15 semifinals, St Paul's High School and St Joseph's High School advanced in contrasting fashion.

St Paul's needed penalties to overcome Oak Hill following a 0-0 stalemate, with Thimhel, Abel, Arakung, and Lenpu converting their kicks to clinch a 4-3 shootout win.

St Joseph's, however, secured a narrow 1-0 victory over St Peter's Hr Sec School, courtesy of Chumsha's early strike in the 9th minute.
