Bikash wins men's singles title in Ibetombi badminton tourney

Mayanglambam Bikash Singh won the men's singles event of the 2nd Thongam Ibetombi Devi Memorial Non-State Players' Badminton Championships 2025 on Sunday.
Bikash triumphed in the final with a commanding straight games victory.
He outclassed Maisnam Roshan Singh 21-9, 21-12 to claim the men's singles title.
In the men's singles 40+ category final, Khomdram Jiten Singh defeated Thoudam Budhachandra Singh 21-13, 21-13, while Pfokrehrii staged a resilient comeback to beat Debabrata Konsam 13-21, 21-17, 21-13 in the 35+ summit clash.
Asem Romeo claimed the 45+ crown with a 14-21, 21-16, 21-10 win over Phyaziikho.
Among the juniors, Roshan Ingudam captured the boys' singles U19 title with a dominant 21-6, 21-10 win against Thokchom Kamaljit Singh.
In the boys' singles U15 final, Prince Moirangthem held off Thoihenba Phurailatpam 21-18, 15-21, 21-16 in a hard-fought contest.
Prince went on to complete a double by pairing with Mahesh Sanasam to defeat Hidangbam Bishal Sharma and Longjam Biyas Meetei 21-15, 21-13 in the boys' doubles U15 final.
In other junior finals, Romibala Sarungbam edged out Biksiya Huidrom 21-15, 9-21, 22-20 in a thrilling, girls' singles U15 encounter.
Rajkumar Rendish Singh battled past Longjam Biyas Meetei 21-15, 17-21, 21-19 to take the boys' singles U13 title, while Ahenthoi Leitanthem secured the boys' singles Ull crown with a 21-13, 21-10 win over Hercules Laishram.
In the boys' doubles U19 final, Elangbam Lamnganba Singh and Sanaren clinched a tight victory over Kendibou and Lah Lunii, 21-19, 22-20.In the doubles events, the men's doubles (open) final saw Khomdram Davidson Singh and Thokchom So ram edge past Arbin and T Hemjit Meitei 21-17, 24-22 .
In the 40+ category, Naorem Saranjit Singh and Thongbam Baleswar overcame Longjam Chingkheinganba Meitei and Thiyam Santosh 21-11, 12-21, 21-14.The men's doubles 45+ title went to Asem Romeo and N Inaobi Singh, who defeated Ak Rajmohan Singh and Th Sanatomba Singh 21-12, 21-10.In the 35+ category, Debabrata Konsam and Longjam Premjit held their nerve to outlast K Roel and Lorish 21-17, 14-21, 21-19 .
