NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy tour reaches Mao

Senapati, July 28 2025: As part of the Trophy Tour of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Martyrs' Memorial Trophy, Mao Students' Union (MSU) officially handed over the Trophy to Angami Students' Union (ASU) at Asufii Turf, Senapati, on Monday.

Speaking as the chief host of the handing over ceremony, Mao MLA Losii Dikho acknowledged the NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy Tour held across all inhabited Naga areas and highlighted its significance in commemorating the 25th Anniversary Edition.

He emphasised that the tour's purpose is honouring the sacrifices and promoting unity through football, a modem symbol of togetherness, and urged the youth to pursue professionalism in the sport for a brighter future.

Steering Committee for the 25th NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy convener Medo Yokha thanked God for the successful trophy tour reaching the MSU and the handing-over ceremony.

He also emphasised the message of peace and unity through football, and called on all football lovers to participate in the upcoming tournament and expressed hope for the Naga society to unite under a shared history.

ASU president Diezevisie Nakhro, in his address, highlighted the growing communication within the student fraternity, which is fostering unity and paving the way for a brighter future for all Nagas.

In commemorating the occasion, an exhibition football match was played between teams representing ASU and MSU, marking the significance of the trophy handover ceremony and fostering unity and sportsmanship among the student communities.
