Imphal, June 21 2025: Jointly organised by the Challou Youth Union Club and the 8 Bihar Regiment under the sponsorship of the 57 Mountain Division, Indi-an Army, Leimakhong, the 9-a-side Manipur Open Challou Cup Football Tournament kicked off on Saturday at the Challou ground in Imphal East district under Lamlai Assembly Constituency.

The inaugural event was attended by Challou Village Committee president Sagolsem Ranjit, Lieutenant Colonel Amit Gunkan, IGP (Zone 1) Themmthing Ngasangua, Brigadier PK Singh, and Bihar Regiment Lieutenant Utpal Das and Lieutenant Colonel Taiyung Shatsang as the presidium members.

The opening match was played between LSIC and United Sekta Club, with the latter emerging victorious with a 2-0 win.

It may be mentioned that a total of 34 teams from across the state are participating in the tournament.
