Superplate: AKSDO, RULE ease to wins

AKSDO and RULE registered dominant wins in the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament 2024-25 on Saturday.
AKSDO secured a comprehensive 57-run win over PSC at Moijing Public Ground in Thoubal.
Opting to bat first, AKSDO posted a competitive total of 179/5.Winchelly Laishram played a key role, remaining unbeaten on 64, while Sanayai Ningthoujam contributed 46 not out.
Chinglensa-na Moirangthem added 24, and Laishram Samson Meitei chipped in with 12.AKSDO lost two wickets to Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma and one each to Jayananda P and Hijam Boba.
In response, AKSDO's bowlers proved too strong for PSC, dismissing them for 122 in 24.3 overs.
Laishram, who had top-scored with the bat, was the standout per former with the ball, claiming an impressive 5-wicket haul.
Sanayai Ningthoujam supported with three wickets, while Saikhom Lanchenba and Saikhom Kaiku each took one.
For PSC, Laimayum Pras-antajit Sharma (47), Kharaijam Sagarjit (12), and Hijam Boba (10) were the only players to reach double figures in a fruitless chase.
Meanwhile, RULE triumphed over YUCC by 46 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Electing to bat first, RULE posted 188/9.Thokchom Kishan was the top scorer with 57 runs, while Sanjenbam Ananda (21), Jay Singh (20), Leishangthem Bishorjit (17), and Nepram Richer (15) made valuable contributions.
The team lost four wickets to Devraj Nongthombam and two each to Shyam and Somraj Laishram.
YUCC's chase faltered as they were bowled out for 142 in 33.5 overs.
W Lenin's valiant 75 was in vain as RULE'S disciplined bowling attack sealed the victory.
Thokchom Kishan and Leishangthem Bishorjit each claimed two wickets, while Nepram Richer, Nongthombam Sarojkumar, Sanjenbam Ananda, and Rojit Angomcha each took one wicket to contribute to the team's decisive win.
