2nd Premier League : 10-man ASUFII FA thump AIM 3-0; slender wins for NISA, Classic FA

Imphal, May 13 2025: 10-man ASUFII FA, Mao registered a thumping 3-0 victory against Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam to end their 2-game winless run in the 2nd Premier League Group B campaign this evening at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

ASUFII FA entered into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead thanks to Salam Swamichandra's 12th minute strike before Matthan Ramrar extended the lead to 2-0 after 54 minutes.

The scoring spree continued with Wangkheirakpam John who came off the bench in place of P Sorormi Thingsang after the break finding the target at the stroke of the hour mark.

AIM continued to search for a goal in the tournament having lost once and drawn once in the two previous matches, but ASUFII FA did well to tackle all their efforts well to keep their citadel intact and eventually saw out the game 3-0 for their first win despite losing Mathanmi Ningshen in the 89th minute as he picked second yellow.

Earlier in the day, Sagolband United's (SU) two game unbeaten run in the Group B competition came to an end as they slumped to 1 -2 loss to NISA, Thangmeiband.

NISA, having drawn 1-1 with YSWA in their previous match, enjoyed early proceedings and raced to a 2-0 lead within 9 minutes as Ngoru Semi Moyon scored the opener in the 4th minute before Khumanthem Helmet doubled the advantage in the 9th minute.

SU pulled back a goal in the 63 rd minute as Jirjar Terang converted a penalty kick.

They however could not close out the margin despite efforts in the remainder of the game.

In a Group A match that was also held earlier in the day, Classic FA beat AMOFA, Moirang by a solitary goal scored by Khullakpam Zahir Khan in the 32nd minute.

It was the second win for Classic FA having beaten Angtha FC 1-0 earlier in the opening match before going down 0-1 to FC Raengdai.
