MPSC and CHAMP recorded comprehensive wins as 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2024-25 resumed on Thursday after a brief hiatus.
MPSC produced a near-perfect performance to dismantle NCA by 10 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground.
After being put in to bat, NCA's innings never gained momentum.
Their top order faltered early, with captain Roshan Konthoujam (5) and Pradeep Singh Takhellambam (17) failing to convert starts.
Gelson Singh Thoudam (3/11) and Potsangbam Bonem Singh (3/11) ran riot, exploiting the sluggish conditions with tight lines and clever variations.
Only Khwairakpam Vedananda Singh (12) and T Johnson (7) provided late resistance, but NCA could only muster a below-par 92/8 in their 20 overs.
In response, MPSC's openers, Sagolsem Sunil Singh and Gelson Singh Thoudam, turned the chase into a no-contest.
Sunil Singh was particularly destructive, smashing 52 off just 25 balls (8 fours, 1 six), while Thoudam played the anchor with an unbeaten 32.The NCA bowlers were left clueless as MPSC raced to victory in just 8.5 overs without losing a wicket.
At Moijing Public Ground, CHAMP put on a bowling exhibition to crush KSDO by 9 wickets.
Opting to bat first, KSDO's innings unravelled quickly.
Mohd Ahsanul Kabir (3/2) was unplayable, dismantling the top order with his precision.
Abdul Rafique (20) and Sha-jahan (14) tried to steady the ship, but Chingakham Ranjan Singh (2/21) and Md Sultan Karim (2/15) ensured there was no recovery.
KSDO were skittled out for a paltry 73 in 17.1 overs, with extras (13) being the second-highest contributor.
In reply, CHAMP's openers, Yumnam Kamajit and Nawaz, launched an all-out assault.
Kamajit's explosive 38* (17 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes) and Nawaz's 22 (12 balls) took the game away in a flash.
Tarique Aziz managed a consolation wicket, but CHAMP reached the target in just 6.1 overs, losing only one wicket.
