Manipur fencers honoured for medal-winning performance at 26th Sub-Junior Nationals

The Manipur Fencing Association (MFA) hosted a reception ceremony on Sunday to honour state fencers who excelled at the 26th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship 2024-25, as well as those who represented India in national and international competitions held between January and April 2025 .
The event was held at the YAS Fencing Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Manipur's fencers delivered a commendable performance at the 26th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship, held from 27 to 30 March 2025 in Cuttack, Odisha, securing a total of 11 medals, including four gold.
Impressively, the state claimed the men's overall team championship title, while the women's team finished as runners-up.
Among the standout performers was Th Kishorjit, who clinched the gold medal in the men's sabre individual category with a decisive 15-11 victory over Vansh of Haryana in the final.
The remaining gold medals were earned by the men's sabre team (Kh Kishorjit, N Lanchenba, Ng Mangangba & N Margret), the men's epee team (T Kadamba, N Chidananda, L Deepu & Th Jacyon), and the women's sabre team (K Yaipharembi, A Florina, H Nirupama & Th Somika).
Silver medals were secured in the men's epee individual event by T Kadamba; the men's foil team (A Henthoisana, K Lamyanba, N Thoihensana & L Cityboy); and the women's epee team (N Piyanganbi, Y Minerva, H Bhumika & S Chilshilla) .
Manipur also added four bronze medals to their tally: Y Minerva (women's epee individual), N Chidananda (men's epee), A Florina (women's sabre), and the women's foil team (Rashina N, Ch Pushpa, M Alish & N Joselin) .
