Imphal, October 27 2025: Ningthoujam Taniya blazed an unbeaten 57-ball 61 before bowlers devastated Meghalaya line up to seal a 45-run victory in the second U-19 Women's T20 Trophy Plate Group match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Asked to bat first, Manipur amassed 111 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of the half century from Ningthoujam Taniya, who scored 6 fours, and double digit contributions from S Kebriya 11 and Moirangthem Creety 15 off 24 balls.

Khundrakpam Bijiya and Hemam Lingjen then shared five wickets among them to set up the Meghalaya collapse at 66 within 18.4 overs and seal the second straight victory.

Manipur lost Lourembam Prena early on 4 to Fenny in the first over before Kebriya and Taniya forged a 44-run partnership for the second wicket.

With Cheanchi trapping Kebriya lbw out, Taniya forged another major partnership of 39 runs with Creety Moirangthem who was undone by Jayshree for the third wicket in the 16th over.

Jayshree also got rid off incoming Barkatun and Sheikh Neha cheaply to complete her haul of 3/16 before M Singh removed Lingjen on 6 for the 6 th wicket.

In reply, Meghalaya started wobbly and were reduced to 46/6 in 12.5 overs as Tongbram Bandana and Ahongshangbam Thoithoibi got rid of the openers before Khundrakpam Bijiya claimed the 3rd, 5th and 6th wickets to return with the best bowling figures of 3/18 in 4 overs.

Barkatun and Priyanshee piled further pressure on Meghalaya by removing the 7th and 8th wickets before Lingjen swept the remaining two batters to finish with a two wicket haul (2/4 in 2.4 overs) and draw curtains on Meghalaya chase.

R Basumatary 11 and M Singh 17 were the only double digit run getters for Meghalaya in the chase.

Manipur will play Mizoram in the third match on October 29 at the same venue.
