The Manipur Swimming Association today accorded a warm felicitation to State swimmers and divers who participated an brought home medals from the recently concluded Sub-Junior, Junior and SeniorNational Aquatics Championships.
The felicitation programme was organised at Maharaj Garibniwaz Memorial Club, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal this afternoon with Thokchom Satyabrata, MLA of Yaiskul Assembly segment and the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly as the chief guest.
Tensubam Thouba, retd Joint Director YAS and president Manipur Swimming Association; Dr Nahakpam Randhir, retd Director, Manipur Remote Sensing Application Centre; and Sapam Mohendro, ex vice-president Swimming Federation of India also attended the programme as the presidium members.

Speaking as the chief guest, Thokchom Satyabrata extended heartfelt congratulations to the talented State swimmers and divers on their outstanding achievements in the National championships.
Lauding their dedication, perseverance, and passion, he also extended wishes for their continued success in the future competitions.
Beamed with pride at their remarkable achievements, he also expressed his strong longing to contribute more, not just getting invited for the felicitation programme, but to lend a helping hand during their preparatory work at his best level.
Notably, Manipur diving (Group III) and swimming teams were crowned champions of the respective events in the 41 st Sub-junior National Aquatics Championships held from August 3-8 in Bengaluru besides the combined team securing historic overall team runners up title.
Notably, Koijam Athoiba took all the limelight as he secured gold medals in the Group III boys' 100 m butterfly stroke event, 100 m freestyle event with new National record, 200 m freestyle event and clinched silver medals in 200 m individual event and 4x50 m freestyle relay event along with Laitonjam Pumhen, Soram Pieterson and Thangjam Mangalsana.
Athoiba was also adjudged best swimmer of the championship.
Compatriot Nahakpam Hemansu meanwhile clinched a gold medal in the 200 m individual medley event, a silver medal in 100 m freestyle event and a bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke event.
Laitonjam Pumhen also bagged a silver medal in the 100 m butterfly stroke event apart from winning a silver medal in the 4x50 m freestyle relay as Maisnam Arindam bagged a gold medal in the 100 m breaststroke event.
While Athoiba stole the show in the sub-junior championship, Laitonjam Lanchenba made the headlines in the Junior (Group II) National Championships held from August 3 to 7 in Ahmedabad.
Lanchenba not only won gold medals in the 50 m butterfly stroke, 100 m butterfly stroke and 200 m butterfly stroke events but also scripted new National records in the said events.
He also won sweep gold medals in the 50 m breaststroke and 200 m individual medley events and a bronze medal in the 4x200 m freestyle relay event with compatriots- Leishangthem Bishwarjit, M Pravesh, Sapam David.
Leishangthem Bishwarjit also won a bronze medal in the 50 m backstroke competition.
Meanwhile, Arubam Benhar contributed two gold medals in the sub-junior boys' diving segment topping the 1 m springboard and 3 m springboard events.
He also won a silver medal in the high board diving event.
His compatriot Hirom Bronson meanwhile secured silver medals in the 1 m springboard and 3 m springboard events and a bronze medal in the high board event.
Junior diver Saikhom Korounganba meanwhile brought home a silver medal by finishing second in the 3 m springboard event.
Laishram Dickson meanwhile bagged a bronze medal for Manipur in the Senior National Championship 3 m springboard diving competition.
All the achievers were also feted with presents during the programme.
