15th Senior Women's' Football League : YWC stun MUFA 8-0; ESU and MPSC play 1-1 draw match

Imphal, June 27 2025: While Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) and Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) played a 1-1 draw match, the Young Welfare Club (YWC) stunned Manipur United FA 8-0 in today's league matches of the 15th Senior Women's' Football League 2024-25 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

In the first match of the day, Athokpam Luxmi Devi scored the first goal in the 4th minute for ESU to lead 1 -0 against MPSC.

ESU tried to keep MPSC strikers at bay, but a determined Ningombam Chanchan Chanu found the much needed equalizer in the 28th minute.

Both teams mounted strong attacks but failed to score a winner before the referee stopped the match at full-time.

In the later match, YWC dominated the field denying Manipur United FA any chance to score a goal.

For YWC, Yumnam Laxmi Devi, Chingangbam Binomala Chanu and Sorokhaibam Lakhipiyari Devi scored 2 goals each.

Wairokpam Daina Chanu and Laishram Purnimaluxmi Devi scored one goal each.

Chingangbam Binomala Chanu scored the first goal in the match's 4th minute, opening the account for YWC.

She scored her second in the 35th minute.

Yumnam Laxmi Devi scored her 2 goals in the match's 20th and 60th minute.

Sorokhaibam Lakhipiyari scored her two in the match's 62nd and 70+2 minute.

Wairokpam Daina Chanu scored her lone goal in the match's 43rd minute.

Laishram Pumimaluxmi, who replaced Laishram Bidyaluxmi Devi, scored in the match's 58th minute.
