AMBBA accords warm reception to Asian Bodybuilding Championship participants

Imphal, August 26 2025: The State bodybuilders who represented India and made top five finishes in the 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025 returned to a heroes welcome as they landed here at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

The All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) led in receiving the athletes including a silver and a bronze medallist in the continental championship that was held from August 18 to 25 at Bangkok, Thailand.

Notably, Chongtham Bluncely who claimed the Mr Imphal East title recently, won a silver medal in the junior men's above 75 kg category competition of the championship while Thokchom Sanjeeta settled for a bronze medal in the women's upto 55 kg category bodybuilding competition.

Three other athletes also made top five finish including Mayanglambam Olenjit who finished fifth in the junior men's above 75 kg category competition; Hawaibam Ricky, who finished fourth in the junior men's upto 75 kg category and Leishangthem Kumarjit who finished fifth in the Masters 50-60 years' 80+ kg category bodybuilding competition.

Chongtham Bluncely trains at Ogust Gym, Checkon while Mayanglambam Olenjit trains at DJ Gym and Fitness, Kakching and Hawaibam Ricky at Royal Gym, Ningomthong.

Thokchom Sanjeeta on the other hand trains at World Gym, Yaiskul and Leishangthem Kumarjit is a Jemadar at 6th IRB and trains and represents MPSC in the domestic circuit.
