State Level Volleyball Tournament : AMIMYDO win senior men and sub-junior boys' titles as MPSC seal women's crown

Imphal, September 24 2025: AMIMYDO, Mayang Imphal were crowned champions of the 49th Senior Men's and 24th Sub-Junior Boys' State Level Volleyball Tournaments organised by the All Manipur Volleyball Association at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex as MPSC sealed the title of 49th Senior Women's State Level Volleyball Tournament.

Last edition's runners up AMIMYDO overcame YMDO, Heirangoithong by 3-2 sets in a keenly contested final to seal the senior men's title.

AMIMYDO faltered in the opening and third sets but retained their composure to return in the fourth set and took the fifth set impressively before securing a 21-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21, 15-21 win against their Heirangoithong rivals.

AMIMYDO reached the final with a 25-21, 28-26, 25-22 win over HVA, Heigrujam yesterday as YMDO upstaged MPSC 25-21, 25-18, 25-23 .

MPSC meanwhile defeated SCYC, Senjam Chirang in straight sets (25-13,25-20, 25-19) to claim the women's crown today.

MPSC booked their place in the final on September 19 with a 3-2 sets win against KYLSC, Kachikhul in a topsy turvy semi-final encounter.

In the similar fashion, SCYC saw off SDVA by 3-1 sets to complete the final line up.

AMIMYDO sub-junior boys' team on the other hand pulled off a 3-2 sets win over DVA, Thoubal to emerge champions.

AMIMYDO slumped in the second and third set after a good start but resurged in the fourth set to extend the game to fifth set and come out 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13 winners.

DVA entered the final with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-17 win over YPC, Ishok yesterday while AMIMYDO overcame HVA, Heigrujam 25-19, 32-30, 25-23 to claim the remaining final ticket.

As many as 22 teams clubbed into four groups competed in the senior men's competition as 12 teams clubbed into four groups participated in the sub-junior boys' competition.

Meanwhile 7 teams clubbed into two groups competed in the women's competition.
