AIFF Elite Youth League 2025-26 : TYDA bow out with 0-3 quarter-final loss to Zinc FA

The spirited run of Toubul Youth Development Association (TYDA) in the AIFF Elite Youth League2025-26cameto a crashing end as they suffered a 0-3 quarter-final loss to Zinc FA this evening at Ramsar Sahib Sports Stadium, Paddi Sura (Garhshankar).
The Toubul based team, who reached the final round via playoff and topped the final round Group D league competition, struggled from the beginning and were put in the backfoot with Ashish Chetry finding the breakthrough for the Punjab based club in the 17th minute.
TYDA slumped further after the restart as Nikhil Gope doubled the advantage for Zinc FA before Md Imran Ansari who subbed in for Shivan Pandey in the 67th minute struck the final nail to the coffin in the 82nd minute.
Earlier in the third quarterfinal clash, Punjab FC crushed Reliance Foundation Young Champs by 6-1 goals courtesy of doubles from Sameer and Vishal Yadav.
Punjab FC found the lead early with Sameer scoring a freak first minute goal before his teammate Vishal Yadav scored back to back in the 11th and the 12th minutes and put their team in the driver's seat.
The onslaught continued with Moirangthem Sayonba scoring the team's fourth goal on the trot in the 20th minute to give Punjab FC a 4-0 first half lead.
Punjab FC continued to exploit the already disheartened Mumbai team and extended their lead to 5-0 with the help of Sameer after 59 minutes.
Reliance Foundation Young Champs pulled back a goal through Faris A in the 66th minute but it proved to be their only goal as Punjab FC amped up their defence to keep their huge lead intact before Shougaijam Yohenba Singh scored in the 84th minute to retain the 5-goal advantage and eventually sealed the 6-1 victory.
