National Masters Powerlifting C'ship : Manipur conclude with 10 medals in Equipped after amassing 9 medals in Classic

Imphal, July 23 2026:
Manipur capped their campaign in the National Masters Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2026 held at Garkheda Stadium, Maharashtra with a haul of 10 medals in equipped and 9 medals in classic.
After State veteran athletes produced a fine display of their ability in classic competition to win 3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, they improved their medal haul in the equipped event by securing 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Tensubam Sovini, Thokchom Kunjarani and Kangjam Ibemhal, who secured gold medals in the classic competition went on to clinch gold in the equipped event while the fourth gold medal came from Naoshekpam Bimola who won a silver medal in the classic competition.
Sovini registered best lift of 60 kg in squat, 30 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift to seal her second gold medal in the Masters-II women's -69 kg category as Thokchom Kunjarani managed 50 kg in squat, 30 kg in bench press and 60 kg in deadlift for her second medal in the Masters-IV women's -76 kg category.
Naoshekpam Bimola on the other hand won the equipped gold medal in the Masters-III women's -84 kg category by posting 60 kg in squat, 40 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift as Kangjam Ibemhal found her way to the second gold medal in the Masters-IV women's -84 kg category with a lift of 50 kg in squat, 30 kg in bench press and 50 kg in deadlift.
Huidrom Suni (Women's Masters-II -52 kg; 70 kg in squat, 40 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift); Nameirakpam Devala (Women's Masters-I -57 kg: 60 kg in squat, 40 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift), Sama Mema (Women's Masters-II -84 kg : 90 kg in squat, 40 kg bench press and 100 kg in deadlift) and Nena Maimom (Women's Masters III- +84 kg : 70 kg in squat, 40 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift) meanwhile won silver in equipped competition.
Kiran Kumar Kangjam (Men's Masters-III -59 kg : 90 kg in squat, 50 kg in bench press and 100 kg in deadlift) and RK Chandrakumar (Men's Masters-IV -74 kg : 60 kg in squat, 40 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift) were the bronze medallists in the equipped event.
