Early tapping of talent, proper training and discipline keys to success : IK Muivah
The 4th edition of Master Boys and Girls Boxing Championship and 1st State Level Blue Cubs Baby League 2025 hosted by Manipur Police Department in association with the Manipur Amateur boxing Association (MABA) and the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) came to a close today.
The formal closing ceremony was held at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena and was attended by Dr IK Muivah (IPS), IGP (Ops), Manipur Police Department as chief guest; Ng Tejkumar, legal advisor (MABA) as functional president; Ch Narendra, vice president MABA and O Geeta Chanu, SAI Coach as guests of honour.

Speaking at the event, IGP IK Muivah stressed on the need for emphasizing on three important aspects to achieve success in the field of sports.
He said tapping talent at the grassroots level, proper training at coaching centers from an early age and disciplined approach are required to achieve future success, be it the National or international level.
He also led in handing out prizes to the podium finishers of the sporting events.
SRBA were crowned the team champions of the boxing 3-day championship which was participated by 182 boxers from as many as 8 boxing academies with 65 points while MBA finished team runners up with 29 points.
NSA's Sanabam Yaiphaba (boys 37 kg) and SRBA-A's Lanthuilui Rongmei (girls 46 kg) were adjudged best boxers of the championship while MSBA-A's Md Aslam Khan (boys 37 kg) and PKBA's L Linthoi (girls 43 kg) were declared best challengers.
MBA's K Tomthinganba (boys 25 kg) and SRBA-A's Sosovi Shatang (girls 29 kg) were also declared most promising boxers.
Meanwhile, Intelligence and Traffic Police teams emerged as U-8 boys winners and runners up in the State Level Blue Cubs Baby League while Narcotics and Cyber Crime finished winners and runners up in the U-10 boys competition.
The Narcotics team meanwhile sealed the U-12 boys title as the Traffic Police team settled for the runners up title while the U-12 girls title went to Manipur Rifles as the Home Guard team finished runners up.
