32nd Senior National Sepaktakraw C'ships : Manipur women's team win Regu event

Imphal, October 20 2022: Manipur women's team emerged champions of the Regu event of the 32nd Senior National Sepaktakraw Championships held at Jyotirmoy National Park, West Bengal while the State men's team finished third.

Notably, the women's team representing the State won the championships without losing a match in the league round.

Manipur women's team made it to the final today with a 21-16, 21-12 win over Haryana in the semi-final. Earlier in the quarter final, Manipur got the better of Kerala 21-19, 21-17 .

The championships were held under the supervision of Sepaktakraw Federation of India from October 16 .

In the final, Manipur defeated SSB in straight sets 21-17, 21-12 and emerged champions of the Regu event. In the men's event, the State won the third place after beating Uttar Pradesh 21-12, 21-6 .

Manipur was defeated by SSB in the semi-final.

It may be mentioned that the Manipur women's team also won the team event of the championships recently while the men's team settled for runners up title.

Manipur women sealed the team title after defeating SSB in the final.

The men's team, on the other hand, suffered a 0-2 loss in the hands of SSB in the final.
