7 state boxers progress to Jr Girls' National Boxing pre-quarters

Imphal, June 20 2025: Manipur showcased an impressive display of skill and dominance on Day 3 of the 6th Junior Girls' National Boxing Championship 2025, with seven boxers advancing to the pre-quarterfinals at the SAI National Boxing Academy in Rohtak, Haryana.

Among the standout performers were Riya Heikham (50kg), Radhamani Longjam (57kg), Moirangthem Khrismira Devi (46kg), Lamameilu Gangmei (46kg), Mangte Shumneijang Kom (54kg), Naorem Artina Devi (60kg), and Thoudam Daina Devi (63kg), each securing victories in their respective bouts to move forward in the tournament.

Riya Heikham delivered a dominant performance, defeating Preiyanshai Sengar of Madhya Pradesh in the first round via Referee Stopped Contest (RSC).

Radhamani Longjam mirrored that intensity by dispatching Angelina Murvani of Andhra Pradesh in the first round via RSC.

Mangte Shumneijang Kom impressed with a 4-1 win against Latasha Sushil Siddi of Karnataka, while Lamameilu Gangmei secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Chandigarh's Niti.

Naorem Artina Devi continued the winning streak with a commanding 5-0 decision over Rakhe Yania of Arunachal Pradesh.

Thoudam Daina Devi also recorded a comprehensive 5-0 win, outboxing Kashish from Himachal Pradesh.

However, it was not an entirely flawless day for the Manipur contingent, as Elangbam Panthoi Chanu (66kg) was eliminated following a first-round defeat to Thanuja of Andhra Pradesh.
