Strong 25-member State contingent to participate in Khelo India Water Sports Festival

Imphal, August 19 2025:
A strong contingent of 20 athletes led by 5 officials will be representing Manipur at the Khelo India Water Sports Festival beginning on August 21 in Srinagar.
The contingent led by Takhellambam Dushanta as Chef de Mission and RK Shakhensana as the nodal officer was flagged off today by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports today.
The athletes in the State contingent comprise Moirangthem Ashapyari, Kumam Bhumeshori Devi, Yumnam Chengloulembi Devi and Pukhrambam Rishikanta in the rowing squad, as per an order issued by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Moirangthem Ashapyari and Kumam Bhumeshori Devi will compete in the double scull event while Yumnam Chengloulembi Devi and Pukhrambam Rishikanta will compete in the single scull event.
Meanwhile, Ningthoujam Nganba, Laiphrakpam Sanatomba, Haobijam Sanatomba, Haobijam Sayonba, Laishom Rajesh, Laishram Rajesh, Laishram Rishikesh, Potshangbam Lanthoiba, Konjengbam Nelson,Toijam Dimita, Oinam Bidyaluxmi, Khundrakpam Chelsi, M Melody, Chingakham Bimola, Waikhom Roniya, Thongam Romila, Kumam Rabina and Naoroibam Dyanandani Devi will be competing in the Canoeing and Kayaking events.
The pair of Ningthoujam Nganba and Laiphrakpam Sanatomba will compete in Men's K2 500 m event and will be joined by Lanthoiba and Nelson in the K4 500 m event.
Sayonba on the other hand will be competing in the men's C1 1000 m event while the pair of Rajesh and Rishikesh will participate in the men's C2 500 m event.
Toijam Dimita will be competing in the women's K1 500 m event and will be joined by Bimola in the women's K2 500 m event.
Oinam Bidyaluxmi in the meantime will participate in the women's C1 200 m competition as Kh Chelsi and Melody will pair up for the women's C2 500 m event.
W Roniya, Th Romila, K Rabina and N Dayanandani will in the meantime compete in the women's K4 500 m event.
Canoeing and Kayaking coaches Khoisnam Sunita, Kangjam Santoshbanta and Rowing coach Kh Indira are also among the officials who are leading the State contingent.
