2nd Premier League : Giftson, Sagar steer FC Raengdai 7-1 past Angtha FC; SSU thump ABA 5-2

Giftson Kamei and Shoraisham Sagar scored two goals apiece to fashion FC Raengdai an emphatic 7-1 win against Angtha FC as the 2nd Premier League organised by the All Manipur Football Association resumed today following 17-day hiatus due to flood and restive situation in the State.
With the huge win, FC Raendai stretched their unbeaten run in the Group A competition to 6 games including a draw in the previous match.
The Noney outfit headed into the break with a 5-1 advantage as four players found their names on the scoresheet although Angtha FC drew first blood through Amom Yohenba in the 10th minute.
Shoraisham Sagar pulled level for FC Raengdai in the 16th minute before Giftson Kamei overturned the lead in the 27th minute.
There was no looking back for the team as Sagar completed his double by converting a penalty in the 42nd minute before Thoudam Bungcha (43') and Gailalung Gonmei (45+3') joined the party to make it 5-1.The scoring spree continued with Ganningam Malngmei who subbed in for Konsam Rohit extended the lead to 6-1 after 63 minutes before Giftson Kamei hit the final nail to the coffin five minutes from time.
The day also saw 10-man Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei prevail 5-2 against Athletic Brother's Association (ABA), Kshetrigao in slightly lopsided Group A match thanks to doubles from Laishram Roshan and Yumnam Joychandra.
Back in form SSU jumped into the action from the word go and led the first half 3-0 before pumping in two more goals in the second half that also witnessed ABA adding two goals to make the final scoreline read 5-2.Yumnam Joychandra opened the scoring for SSU after 8 minutes before Laishram Roshan scored back to back in the 36th and the 44th minute to make it 3-0 .
SSU were reduced today 10-man right before the break with Ayekpam Bhumeshwor picking up the second yellow card in the added time of the first half but the team maintained their composure to keep ABA attacks at bay for a major portion of the second half.
ABA managed to breach the SSU defence and pull back a goal through Md Aruwas in the 72nd minute but Joychandra scored three minutes later to help SSU maintain the 3-goal lead.
Substitute Md Sohail made it 2-4 after 80 minutes but SSU finished off the game with the 3-goal lead as Md Shuaib who substituted Laishram Roshan found the fifth goal for the team in the 88th minutes.
