4th MNCA Superplate Tournament : Winchelly hits half century, picks five in AKSDO's 57-run victory

Allround heroics proved crucial in today's matches of the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament as RULE, Meitram defeated YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 46 runs and AKSDO, Khangabok defeated PSC, Khuyathong by 57 runs.
In the Group A match staged at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, Thokchom Kishan blasted 57 off 32 balls (5 fours and 2 sixes) and picked two wickets in RULE'S 46-run victory against YUCC.
Sanjenbam Ananda 21, Jay Singh 20, Nepram Richer 15 also managed double digit scores as RULE post 188/9 in 35 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
YUCC's Devraj Nongthombam picked four wickets for 39 runs in 7 overs as Shyam (2/23) and Somraj Laishram (2/22) shared four wickets in the first innings but their chase ended at 142 in 33.5 overs despite W Lenin's 75-ball 75 (8 fours and 1 six) as RULE bowlers put in a concerted effort.
Thokchom Kishan (2/35) and Leishangthem Bishoijit (2/18) shared four wickets for RULE to make things hard for YUCC as Nepram Richer, N Sarojkumar, S Ananda and A Rohit picked a wicket apiece.
Thokchom Kishan was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, AKSDO ended their two game losing streak (Group B) with a 57 run victory courtesy of Winchelly Laishram who struck an unbeaten half century (64 off 75 balls, 8 fours and 1 six) to lead AKSDO to 179/5 in allotted 30 overs before enjoying a five-for to set up PSC collapse at 122 within 24.3 overs.
Sanayai Ningthoujam 46 also made significant contributions to AKSDO's tally after they were asked to bat first by PSC.
For PSC, Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma picked two wickets (2/32) as P Jayananda and Hijam Boba claimed a wicket apiece.
Chasing 180 for the win, Laimayum Prasantajit produced a remarkable knock of 47 runs in 51 balls but his effort was not enough as other batters fell cheaply in the face of clinical AKSDO bowlers.
Winchelly Laishram returned with the best bowling figures of 5/30 in 4.3 overs as Sanayai Ningthoujam picked three (3/20) and Saikhom Lanchenba and Saikhom Kaiku chipped in with a wicket apiece for AKSDO.
Winchelly was eventually adjudged player of the match.
