Panel discussion cum workshop on "Inherent Support System for Promotion of Sports in Manipur" held

The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur today organised a panel discussion cum workshop on "Inherent Support System for Promotion of Sports in Manipur" this morning at State Youth Centre, Khuman Lampak.
The meet attended by various speakers including RK Nimai, IAS (retd); Ksh Thoiba, Olympian; N Kunjarani, Olympian; Moirangthem Rachandra, vice president Manipur Olympic Association and Mayanglambam Romen, senior sports journalist of The Sangai Express, was formally opened by N Praveen, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports.
In the discussion cum workshop programme moderated by Dr Mayengbam Veto, Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Department, RK Nimai spoke on the topic-Overall Community Support System-Inherent Sporting Culture of Manipur.
Olympian Ksh Thoiba meanwhile spoke on the "Role of Players for promotion of Sports in Manipur" as N Kunjarani Devi spoke on the "Overall Perception by players of Manipur on Community Sports Promotion in Manipur".
MOA vice president M Rachandra in the meantime spoke on the "Role of Associations/Federations for Promotion of Sports in Manipur" while Mayanglambam Romen delved into the "Role of Media as Pressure Groups for Sports Promotion in Manipur".
The panel discussion was also attended by office bearers of Manipur Olympic Association, coaches of Youth Affairs and Sports, DYASOs and representatives of youth organisations.
The meet not only acknowledged the sporting prowess of the State athletes and the need for a more effective community support system to further the sporting cause.
Financial constraints and infrastructural issues, travel inconveniences faced by State athletes and other components hindering State athletes were also discussed during the meet.
