9th MNCA Elite Tournament: Rampant PTRC thrash TRAU by 44 runs for seventh win on trot

Rampant PTRC, Patsoi Part IV produced yet another dominant show to end the 5-game winning streak of TRAU, Kwakeithel by sealing a 44-run victory and stretched their winning run to seven games in the ongoing 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
TRAU won the toss this morning at Moijing Public Ground but chose to field first.
Thanks to half centuries from Loitongbam Shitaljit and Chingakham Bidash, PTRC racked up 224 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 33 overs and bundled out TRAU for 180 runs in 31.4 overs.

One of the PTRC's leading run getter Khangembam Santosh and Loitongbam Shitaljit gave the team a good start forging 41 runs before Santosh got run out on a 23-ball 32 before Ngariyanbam Jameson and Shitaljit combined well to gather 81 runs off 72 balls for the second wicket.
Mutum Swabhiman however removed Jameson on 41 in the 19th over before removing Shitaljit on a 73-ball 52 (5 fours and 2 sixes) in the 23rd over to reduce PTRC to 139/3 .
From 139/3, Chingakham Bidash and Ngariyanbam Johnson another 33 runs for the 4th wicket before Johnson was caught behind on 9 by Pukhrambam Prafullomani of Somorjit Salam's 2nd delivery in the 27th over.
Chingakham Bidash also saw his incoming partner RK Rex depart cheaply but held on to complete his half century and finished unbeaten on 70 off 44 balls (9 fours and 3 sixes) to take the team to 224/7 with Salam Richie 8 not out.
Mutum Swabhiman returned with the best figures of 2/34 for TRAU as Somorjit and Thangjam Rishi finished with a wicket apiece.
Chasing 225 runs for the win, TRAU started wobbly and were reduced to 36/2 in 9 overs losing both the openers cheaply.
Skipper Priyojit Kangabam tried his best to keep the chase alive by adding 86 off 65 balls (14 fours and 2 sixes) but his partners failed to play along and they eventually got all out for 180 runs.
RK Rex (2/12) and Deepak (2/35) shared key four wickets to apply pressure on TRAU in this innings as Laitonjam Jackson (1/26), Tamarland Pheiroijam (1/21) and Loitongbam Shitaljit (1/20) finished with a wicket apiece.
Chingakham Bidash who led the PTRC batting charge was adjudged player of the match.
