Young Pioneer English School teams shine in State Level JN Hockey Tournament

Imphal, September 11 2025: Young Pioneer English School, Imphal East were in their best form when their junior girls and boys emerged victorious in three matches of the State Level JN Hockey Tournament today.

The State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2025 was opened at the Khuman Lampak Stadium today.

The junior girls of the Young Pioneer English School beat ADL English School, Wabagai Lamkhai 6-1 .

The school's U-17 junior boys beat Kakching Higher Secondary School 5-1 .

Their U-15 junior boys beat Lamjao Higher School 5-0 .

Junior Girls

A Angelica scored a massive three goals to help Young Pioneer English School thrash ADL English School, Wabagai Lamkhai 6-1 in today's match of the 31st Nehru Junior Girls' (U-17) Hockey Tournament 2025.A Angelica scored her three goals in the match's 16th, 31st, and 35th minute.

Her team-mates, Ch Jerina, M Prinja.

and L Helina scored one each in the 1st, 7th and 46th minute respectively.

H Santirani scored the lone goal for ADL English School in the match's 37th minute.

Junior Boys (U-17)

Young Pioneer English School, Imphal East boys' too secured a comfortable 5-1 win against Kakching Higher Secondary School in today's match of the 42nd Nehru Junior Boys (U-17) Hockey Tournament.

A Suton, who scored a double for Young Pioneer English School, opened the lead for his team in the match's 2nd minute.

He scored his second goal in the 42nd minute.

Suton's colleagues, Ksh Salverson, Kh Lamnganba and Ch Surajaraj scored one each in the 6th, 9th and 40th minute respectively.

Kakching Higher Secondary School's Ksh Pareshkumar scored the lone goal for the team in the 47th minute.

Junior Boys (U-15)

In the 42nd Nehru Junior Boys (U-15) Hockey, Young Pioneer English School beat Lamjao High School 5-0.Th Edison scored four goals in the match's 40th, 47th, 53rd and 58th minute while N Paikhomba scored one in the 42nd minute.

The State Level JN Hockey Tournament 2025 is being organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), Government of Manipur.

YAS Secretary Naorem Praveen, YAS Director Mayengbam Veto, YAS Deputy Director Nilakanta Sharma, Hockey Olympian Kshetrimayum Thoiba, Olympian and YAS Deputy Director Nilakanta Sharma, Judo Olympian Shushila Likmabam, Arjuna Awardee Laishram Sarita, YAS Senior Finance Officer N Parithoihen Meetei and YAS Assistant Director L Anita Chanu attended the opening ceremony of the tournament.
