Imphal, July 11 2025:
FC Raengdai, Noney extended their winning streak in the second round of the 2nd Premier League to three games by beating Rising Athletic Union (RAU), Lairikyengbam Leikai 1-0 at SAI Ground, Takyel.
Having won 3-1 against Angtha FC and beaten ABA 1 -0 in the previous Group C matches (second round), FC Raengdai sealed all three points and their 11th win in the tournament courtesy of Yendrembam Sobha's 60th minute strike after the two sides played out a goalless first half.
The result also ended RAU's two game unbeaten run in the second round competition having played out 1-1 draw with WAFA and Angtha FC respectively.
Earlier in the day, Sagolband United (SU) and UDO, Heingang shared the spoils as UDO rallied to salvage a draw in a Group D match.
The two sides were evenly poised in the first half and entered the break goalless despite exchanging few close runs.
SU however went ahead after 55 minutes as Sapam Bishorjit made the most of a chance.
SU held on to their lead for a major portion of the second half but relentless UDO rode on Salam Dhiren to equalise in the 84th minute.
The two sides toiled hard to find the winner in the remainder of the game but they could not be separated as defenders on both ends did a good job to deny any alteration in the scoreline.
ABA, Kshetrigao will play WAFA, Wangoi in the next match tomorrow in a Group C match from 12.30 pm at SAI Ground, Takyel before AFC, Angtha take on SSU, Singjamei in another Group C match from 3 pm .
