Manipur crowned overall team champions of 24th Junior National Wushu Championships

Manipur emerged overall team champions at the 24th Junior National Wushu Championships that came to a close at Hyderabad's Gachibowli stadium today.
Manipur secured 14 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze medals to finish atop in the championships.
The State taolu athletes won a bulk of 25 medals including 13 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze to earn the top honour as Sanda athletes won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Aheibam Thoungamba clinched most gold medals in this National Championship, finishing atop in Changquan, Daoshu and Gunshu events as Nongmaithem Nikhil won a gold medal apiece in Jianshu and Qiangshu events and a silver medal in the Changquan event.
Yumnam Subhash, Kh Sunila Devi and Maibam Priyangka also won two gold medals in Taolu competitions.
Subhash bagged the two gold medals in Nanquan and Nangun events as Sunila topped in Taijiquan and Taijijian events.
Maibam Priyangka in the meantime secured top spot in the Taiji Type and Single Weapon events to add two more gold medals to the State's tally.
Other Taolu gold medallists included Maibam Ibson (Nanquan Type) and Maisnam Diamond (Taiji Type) .
Nameirakpam Athoibi (Nanquan and Nandao) and Nongmaithem Nganthoiba (Taijiquan and Taijijian) meanwhile won two silver medals apiece as Maibam Luhenbi (Nanquan Type) and Khaidem Jenim (Wingchun) settled for a silver medal each.
Huidrom Bidyasagar (Qiangshu), Leimapokpam Pinky (Changquan), Elangbam Jupiter (Other Style), Yumlembam Prince (Double Weapon) and Hanjabam Keya (Single Weapon) .
Sanda medallists
Huidrom Jenit (-60 kg) emerged the only gold medallist in the Sanda competition as Asem Drubaraj (-56 kg) and Takhellambam Siliva Devi (-56 kg) won a silver medal apiece.
Meanwhile, Khumanthem Dinesh (-52 kg), Athokpam Grecy (-48kg) and Haobijam Maya (-52 kg) won a bronze medal apiece.
