Khelo India Youth Games Day 2 : Manipur bag two Judo medals; dominate in Sepaktakraw, Football

Manipur has won as many as 2 medals while men and women's Sepaktakraw teams registered two wins apiece as the Khelo India Youth Games hosted by Bihar entered second day.
The opening day of the Judo competition saw Manipur securing two medals including a silver and a bronze at Gyan Bhawan in Patna.
Yanglem Athoibi won the silver medal with a final loss by Ippon in the girls' -63 kg category competition to Delhi's Stanjing Daechan today.
Manipur's Kh Monika meanwhile had to settle for a bronze medal earlier as she also got beaten by Stanjing Daechan by Ippon in a semifinal clash.
The day also saw Manipur Huidrom Brainy losing to Gujarat's Mit Parekh by Ippon in the bronze medal clash for boys' -81 kg category.
Sepaktakraw teams shine on opening day
The Sepaktakraw competition of the games also began today and both the men and women's teams of Manipur started their campaigns on winning notes.
Manipur men's team opened their league campaign by beating Maharashtra 3-0 with the first regu winning 15-9, 15-6; second regu winning 15-6, 15-8 and the third regu winning 17-11, 15-10 .
The State team further extended their winning run by beating Uttar Pradesh in the same fashion.
The first regu won 15-4, 15-2 before the second regu won 15-3, 15-10 and the third regu secured a 17-11, 15-10 win.
Manipur women's team in the meantime also opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over Delhi as the first regu eased to 15-2, 15-9 win; second regu won 15-12, 15-19 and the third regu clinching a 17-7, 15-9 win.
They registered their second win against Odisha with the same scoreline as the first regu secured a 15-9, 15-5 win; second regu notched up a 15-8, 15-9 and the third regu pulled off a 17-10, 15-4 win.
Manipur rout Andhra Pradesh 3-0 in women's football opener
State women's football team meanwhile kicked off their campaign with a commanding 3-0 win against Andhra Pradesh today at IOCL Barauni ground, Begusarai.
Manipur opened the scoring moments before the half time as Lamnganbi connected to a fine assist from Alva Devi to beat the Andhra Pradesh keeper before Alva Devi herself doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute with the assistance of N Olivia.
Anju Devi then made the most of a solo effort in the 85th minute to complete the 3-0 rout of Andhra Pradesh.
Manipur suffer second game loss in men's Volleyball
The second day of the games also witnessed Manipur men's team suffer second game loss in the Volleyball competition that began yesterday.
Having beaten Punjab 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 in the opening match yesterday, Manipur lost to Rajasthan by 3-2 sets in a see-saw affair.
Manipur faltered in the first and the third sets in this keenly contested match as hardworking Rajasthan recovered in the deciding set and managed to see out the game 25-18, 17-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12 .
Archer Sorokhaibam Melody finishes 10th in individual Recurve First Round
State lone archer Sorokhaibam Melody put up a strong effort in the first round of the women's individual recurve competition on the second day at Sandy's Compound Ground in Bhagalpur but finished 10th .
She shot 614 points to seal the 10th place.
