NE Zone CRPF Inter Range Football tourney: Agartala Range, Dibrugarh Range, Imphal Range and Kohima Range enter semifinal

Imphal, July 04 2019: Guwahati Range played out 3-3 draw against Kohima Range while Agartala Range decimated Bongaigaon Range 9-0, Dibrugarh Range crushed Silchar Range 10-0 and Imphal Range had a convincing 2-0 over Khatkhati Range and cruised to the semifinal of the ongoing NE Zone Inter Range Football Tournament 2019, organized under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs by GC, CRPF Imphal at Football Ground GC, CRPF, Langjing today.

In the first Pool B league match of the day, Guwahati Range had a very competitive match with Kohima Range which ended in a 3-3 draw at the end of the regulation time.

Guwahati Range got an early goal two minutes into the game through Dibi Banara to lead the match with 1-0 while M Saratchandra doubled the lead with a fine move in the 19th minute of the game.

However, Kohima Range fought back strongly to equalise the goal with two successive goals through Govinda Rajbanshi and CK Marandi in the 22nd and 28th minute respectively.

Guwahati Range raised their hope with a scintillating goal in the 57th minute through MT Ngaranmi to take the lead to 3-2 but Sumrata Chakrabarty dashed their hope with a quick equalizer in the 59th minute ensuring 3-3 draw at the end of the normal time.

In the second Pool A league match, Bongaigaon Range suffered a humiliating 0-9 defeat at the hand of Agartala Range.

K Boro (6', 32', 45') and Parimal (13', 26', 50') registered a hat-trick each while Biki Basumatary (19', 37') and Prasanta Manna (40') added three more goals to give the Agartala side a thumping victory.

In the third Pool B league match, Dibrugarh Range displayed towering performances to seal a gigantic 10-0 victory over Silchar Range in this very one-sided affair.

PK Basumatary (8', 19', 31', 39') scored four goals while Manik Miah (41', 46', 47') added three successive goals which was superbly aided by Joseph, C Zuala and P Kumar who have one goal each in the 12th, 35th and 49th minute respectively.

In the last Pool A league match of the day, Imphal Range continued its winning streak defeating Khakhati Range by 2-0 goals.

Santosh scored the opener one three minutes into the game while Len doubled the lead in the 24th minute.

Imphal Range will take on Kohima Range at 6.30 am while Dibrugarh Range will battle it out with Agartala Range at 8 am .

The final match will be played at 3 pm.
