Model Club, Singjamei Chingamathak steamrolled REYS, Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai by 183 runs for the fourth Group B win on the trot in the 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy at Lairenjam Public Ground today.
Irungbam Tonton produced a masterful unbeaten knock of 102-ball 136 and enjoyed a four wicket haul (4/ 27) to inspire Model Club the huge win that lift them to second place in the table below KASC, Khomidok who had won four in five league matches.
Model Club won the toss and opted to bat first this morning.
They erected a massive total of 364 runs for 3 wickets in 40 overs as Irungbam Tonton forged a remarkable 234-run fourth wicket partnership in 21.2 overs with Bishal Ningombam blasted 19 fours and 4 sixes on the way to his 144 off 40 deliveries.
Chasing 365 for the victory, REYS ended up gathering 181 for all wickets down in 29.1 overs as Irungbam Tonton (4/27 in 6 overs) and Bisai (3/32 in 6.1 overs) wreaked havoc across their batting line up after dominating the first innings.
REYS skipper Sapam Bikash who claimed two wickets (2/34) in the first innings added highest 60 off 58 balls in the chase followed by K Ringku 24, Sapam Suraj 22 and Y Vicky 21.Irungbam Tonton was adjudged player of the match.
CYCLONE overwhelm KSDO by 248 runs
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CYCLONE crush KSDO by 248 runs thanks to all round performance of Oinam Reolin (44-ball 100; 9 fours and 8 sixes and bowling figures of 3-0-10-2).Reolin 100, Ningthoujam Thoiba 45 and Sandham Amar 47 helped CYCLONE post 335/10 in 35.1 overs and bowled but KSDO for 87 runs in 26.1 overs with Reolin, M Thomsan.
The win help boosted CYCLONE's Group A top finish and will play ESU, Wangkhei Palace compound in the final league match.
RULE end campaign with 9-wicket thrashing of LCC
Meanwhile at Khudeiband Lampak, RULE, Meitram cruised to 49 in 5.3 overs with 9 wickets left to spare after bowling out LCC, Lamsang for a meagre total of 47 runs in 19.1 overs thanks to A Rojit (5/12 in 8 overs) to end their Group C campaign with two wins.
PTCC go second in Group D table
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PTCC, Patsoi Part III crushed CYSA, Khangabok by 219 runs.
Loukrakpam Anao scored a 52-ball 55 and Soraisam Nungchengba 55 off 60 led PTCC, Patsoi Part III to 251/ 10 in 39.1 overs before Devas Tongbram (3/8 in 4 overs) and L Khilchandra (3/13) and L Anao (2/1) set up the CYSA collapse at 32 within 10 overs.
