SHADOW unleashed a crushing 252-run defeat on Al-Ameen in a one-side encounter of the 4th MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2024-25 a THAU Ground, Thangmeiband, on Saturday.
Electing to field first after winning the toss, AL-AMEEN's decision backfired as SHADOW unleashed a batting masterclass, posting an imposing 317/1 in 35 overs.
Al-Ameen's reply crumbled to a meagre 65 all out in just 17.4 overs, marking one of the largest margins of victory in the tournament.
SHADOW's innings was spearheaded by a devastating opening stand.
Wicketkeeper-opener Viviene Laishram set the tone with a fluent 77 off 76 balls, stitching together a 256-run partnership with the unstoppable Kebriya Devi Sapam.
The latter stole the show with a career-defining 159* (135 balls), peppering the boundary 28 times while maintaining a strike rate of 117.78.Even after Laishram's dismissal, Victoria Thokchom (5*) ensured no momentum was lost, as SHADOW plundered 61 extras from AL-AMEEN's wayward bowling attack, including 61 wides and 11 no-balls.
AL-AMEEN's bowlers toiled without reward, with only captain Farhana claiming a solitary wicket.
Chasing an improbable 318, AL-AMEEN's innings unravelled within minutes under SHADOW's ferocious attack.
Victoria Thokchom, fresh from her cameo with the bat, ripped through the top order with a fiery 5/6 in 4.4 overs, reducing AL-AMEEN to 8/4 inside three overs.
Kebriya Devi Sapam added two wickets to her batting heroics, while Priyanshee Hanglem (2/8) tightened the screws.
Only Najiya Begum (11) offered fleeting resistance as SHADOW's bowlers conceded just six boundaries collectively.
