5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy : REYS vs CYCLONE, RCA vs TRAU in semi-finals

REYS, Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai; CYCLONE, Thangmeiband; RCA, Lilong and TRAU, Kwakeithel all advanced to the semi-finals of the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy with quarterfinals victories today.
At Moijing Public ground, RCA defeated RULE, Meitram by 4 wickets to make their way to the semi-finals.
In a match that was truncated to 8 overs an innings, RULE posted 66 for 5 wickets but RCA cruised to 72 for 6 with 4 balls left to spare thanks to Syed Hussain's 18-ball 35, who was later adjudged man of the match.
Jay Singh 22 off 21 balls and Thokchom Kishan 21 off 12 balls led the scoring earlier for toss winners RULE in the first innings wherein Aziz Mirza of RCA picked two wickets (2/6) and Naesh Hussain claimed one (1/21).For RULE, N Sarojkumar (2/9), Jay Singh (2/18) and Thokchom Ki shan (1/18) were among the wickets.
Later at the same venue, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband chased down a target of 72 runs set by Model Club, Chingamakha with 8 wickets and 5 balls left to spare to progress into the semi-final.
Asked to bat first, Model Club gathered 71 runs for 7 wickets courtesy of Nongmaithem Bijenkumar who added 20 off 7 balls but his effort was not enough as Md Al Bashid 27 off 19 and Laishram Kishan 29 off 15 forged an unbeaten 48-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to seal the victory for CYCLONE.
L Kishan (2/14), Nongthombam Denin (2/12) and Md Aqeel (2/12) earlier picked two wickets apiece as Y Suson (1/23) and L Robertson (1/14) picked a wicket apiece for Model Club.
L Kishan was named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, REYS beat PTCC by 4 wickets after bundling out the later team for 74 runs in 12 overs in a match that was reduced to 12 overs an innings.
Laishram Kiran (3/8), Kangujam Ringku (3/13)and Sapam Bikash (3/16) for REYS claimed three wickets apiece to dismantle PTCC for 74 runs before Laishram Nanao 28 not out off 16 balls and KKV Mustaque 25 off 16 balls take the team to winning 78.For PTCC, Loukrakpam Anao (4/16) enjoyed a four wicket haul in a lost cause.
K Ringku who picked three wickets and added 11 runs in the chase was declared man of the match.
Later in another quarterfinal match that was reduced to 8 overs and innings, TRAU defended a total of 85 runs by restricting CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai to 49/4.Pukhrambam Prafullomani starred with an unbeaten 28-ball 50 that included 5 fours and 3 sixes for TRAU alongside Kangabam Priyojit 24 not out off 21 balls after being asked to bat first.
K Monish 24 off 26 balls led the chase for CDCC as Salam Somorjit, Anoubam Puinachandra, Mutum Swabhiman and K Priyojit picked a wicket apiece to throttle the chase.
Prafullomani was named man of the match.
Semi-final matches
REYS will play CYCLONE in the first semifinal match at Moijing Public Ground on July 1 while RCA will face TRAU in the other semi-final match at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground the same day.
