Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate : Bishworjit, Langlonyamba lead the way as Manipur thrash Mizoram by 8 wickets

Konthoujam Bishworjit produced an impeccable bowling performance before Meitankeishangbam Langlonyamba and Ngairiyanbam Johnson shone with the bat to earn Manipur an 8-wicket win over Mizoram in the fourth tie of Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate Group competition.
It was the third win for Manipur in four matches and the result lifted Manipur to second in the Group table behind Bihar, who have won four of four matches.
Asked to bat first at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, Mizoram did not fare well and slumped to 200 all out in 45.5 overs with Bishworjit, who found the breakthrough in removing Karthik CA for the first wicket on 11, sweeping the last three batters to complete his second hattrick of the tournament and his career's fourth.
Langlonyamba and Johnson then struck a century and a half century respectively and remained unbeaten for the third wicket stand to guide Manipur to the winning 205 within 34.1 overs.
Mizoram do not look comfortable with the bat from the beginning and slipped to 61/5 in 15 overs as Jotin claimed the second wicket in the form of Hruizela (11), Bidash trapped Sahil Reza (10) for the third wicket and bowled out Thangkhuma (2) for the fifth wicket and Kangabam Priyojit removed Jehu Anderson (3).From 61/5, Sahil Sharma and Puipuia took the matter into their hand and forged a remarkable 119 partnership until Sahil Sharma got run out by Langlonyamba on the highest 86 off 114 balls.
Jotin Pheiroijam then completed his double by bowling out KC Cariappa on 4 for the 7th wicket before Bishworjit completely removed the stung getting rid of Puipuipa in the 3rd delivery of the 46th over as soon as he completed a half century off 86 balls.
Bishworjit then dismissed incoming Marema on duck in the next delivery before bowling out incoming Vanlal Remruata in following delivery to put the Mizoram innings to an end and returned with the best haul of 4/34 in his spell of 7.5 overs.
Jotin on the other hand finished with the bowling figures of 2/33 in 8 overs as Bidash managed 2/32 in 7 overs and Priyojit posted 1/18 in 5 overs.
Chasing 201 for the victory, Manipur lost Kh Ulenyai on a 2-ball in the first over to KC Cariappa but Y Karnajit and Langlonyam kept their cool to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Mizoram rode on Vanrotlinga to dismiss Karnajit on 17 for the second wicket in the 12th over as the scoreboard read 53, but their bowling attack failed to break the solid partnership between Langlonyamba and Johnson, who gathered 152 runs off 139 balls to deservingly seal the victory in the first delivery of the 35th over.
Langlonyamba clobbered 11 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his unbeaten 110 off 119 balls while Johnson smacked 8 fours to remain unbeaten on 64.Langlonyamba was adjudged player of the match while Bishworjit received another match-ball for his second hattrick feat in the tournament.
