MPSC crowned champions of Senior Women's Football League

MPSC claimed the title of the 9th AMFA Senior Women's Football League for BM Singh Trophy 2018 organised under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association at Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
MPSC ended unbeaten in the tournament as they were held to a goalless draw with KRYPHSA, Naoremthong today in their last second leg match and guaranteed their place in the Indian Women's League as they topped the tournament with 10 points from 2 wins 4 draws.
ESU on the other hand finished runners up with 9 points from 2 wins and 3 draws at this four team league tournament while YWC, Langthabal and KRYPHSA finished third and fourth respectively.
The 12th league match of the tournament saw ESU, Wangkhei edged past YWC, Langthabal by 2-1 goals to secure the second spot in the competition.
Both ESU and YWC, Langthabal could have become the winners if MPSC had lost in the last tie against KRYPHSA and either team secure win by huge goal margin.
ESU went close to become the champions but MPSC proved the luckier side as they managed a point to ensure the place at the top spot.
ESU put the Langthabal side on the backfoot as they managed to slot home twice in the opening half through W Ranjibala and N Priyanka before finishing the game 2-1 .
W Ranjibala found the breakthrough in the 14th minute of the match while N Priyanka doubled their advantage in the 35th minute.
ESU's pressure faded in the second half and it was S Lynda Kom of YWC who pulled back a goal in the 61st minute to make it 1-2 till the end.
The 11th match played in the evening between MPSC and KRYPHSA witnessed the latter team toiled hard for a better result but MPSC managed to hold their fort intact till the final whistle to split the points and eventually emerged champions.
