Kidnapped masons released

The two masons who were reportedly abducted over ransom demand by Kangleipak Communist Party (L Khuman) on July 27 were released in the wee hours today.
The two masons were involved in construction of a bridge at Phumlou Siphai area in Imphal West district and were abducted by KCP (L Khuman) from their worksite.
Addressing media persons after their release, Sapam Meiraba and Huidrom Khambaton informed that though they were not physically torture by the abductors, they were made to stay in a dark room with both their hands tied behind.
They were fed in the dark room in the dim light of a torch.
Both of them were starved last night and in the wee hours today they were taken on a vehicle and released at a place between Akham and Lamdeng.
