Sit-in protests arrest of victim's companion

Imphal, August 06 2025: A sit-in protest was organised by Kangjabi Leirak Youth Club (KLYC), NACHAL Club, Echel Club, Nagamapal Youth Club and meira paibi groups at Kangjabi Leirak Machin on Wednesday denouncing arrest of Lamabam Taibanganbi, who had accompanied Meitei Salai Thiyam, who was recently killed in a stabbing attack.

Speaking to media persons, KLYC president Sapam Sub-hangker deplored the misfortune that befell on Meitei Salai Thiyam, while claiming as unfair that police arrested Taibanganbi simply for accompanying the victim.

He also pointed that the main accused has already surrendered to the police.

Subhangker further condemned the arrest of Taibanganbi despite extending co-operation to the police investigation.
