Imphal, March 24 2015:
Kangchup Chiru village chief, Akung Thanga, in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today has called for a peaceful co-existence of all.
In March 16, 2015, a mob of about 150 vandalised houses and other private property of Kangchup Chiru village after illegal transportation of wood and charcoals were banned in the area.
Expressing disappointment over the alleged brutal acts, the village chief appealed the groups/organisation concerned to refrain from carrying out such communal act in the future.
He further appealed to the State and other civil society organisations to look into the matter.
