Imphal, March 30 2026: The Ereipak Chaokhatnaba Hotnaba Eriepakchasingee Lup (ECHEL) has appealed to residents and authorities to immediately address a civic crisis in Soram Leirak, where water pipelines laid through the main drain along Rims Road are blocking drainage and causing street overflows.

This setup severely inconveniences the public and risks worsening with the rainy season, said ECHEL in a release.

ECHEL has called for prompt removal of these pipes and the installation of proper water connections in consultation with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) .
