Power outage hits Ukhrul town

Ukhrul, May 28 2025: Ukhrul town was plunged into total darkness on Wednesday evening following a technical failure at the Ukhrul power sub-station.

According to an official source from the MSPDCL Ukhrul, there would be no power supply across the jurisdiction of the Ukhrul Sub-Division throughout Wednesday night.

The outage occurred around 7:50 pm.

There was a significant blast on the Tangrei 33 KV line between Hundung and Ukhrul on Wednesday evening, the source said, quoting information received from the MSPCL Imphal.

The MSPCL assured of restoring the power by Thursday morning, it added.
