Imphal, December 19 2009:
Local people of Yaingangpokpi Bazar and surrounding villages staged a dharna today with an appeal to all concerned to withdraw all kinds of monetary demands/taxes made to the people of the locality, said a press release issued by the Yaingangpokpi Bazar Development Committee.
It also appealed to shopkeepers of Yaingangpokpi Bazar to open shops in view of Christmas festival.
All shops in Yaingangpokpi Bazar have pulled down their shutters since December 10 because of monetary demands/taxes.
