Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, November 16 2017:
In the wake of the November 13 accident where a vehicle plunged into a river after the bridge collapsed, Manipur Drivers' Welfare Association has appealed to the concerned authorities to improve the conditions of the bridges and the roads on the highways.
In a press note, the association also urged the concerned authorities to look into the extortion and unauthorised collections at various check points on the highways.
The extortion and unauthorised collections along the highways have been going on unabated despite repeated complaints made, the association said.
