CM meets accident victims at SHRI : Rs 20 lakh each to families of deceased assured

Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced Rs 20 lakh financial assistance each to the next of kin of the MR personnel who died yesterday in an accident along Tamenglong-Khongsang road.
The CM made the assurance today after meeting the family members of the deceased MR personnel at JNIMS morgue.
Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the security personnel had died in the line of duty.
The Govt is considering seriously as the personnel died on a special mission of the new Government, i.e 'Go to the Hills' mission.
The Government would also provide financial support of" Rs 5 lakh each to those injured personnel, he added.
The-proposal for providing financial aid would be placed before-the Cabinet, he added.
Expressing deepest condolences, Chief Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved-families.
Replying to a query about the recent ambush that" killed 2 AR jawans in Chandel district, the Chief Minister said that violence will not bring any solution and it only hampers" in bringing peace and prosperity in the State.
Political dialogue is very much needed to resolve any issue, he added.
The Chief Minister further stated that the State Government is planning to have political dialogue with the insurgent outfits if the Centre gives approval for the talks.
Earlier in the morning, the CM visited the injured victims of the road mishap to enquire about their conditions who are undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals.
N Biren Singh gave some financial assistance to the families of the injured personnel.
He assured that the medical expenses during the treatment will be borne by the Govt.Rajya Sabha MP K Bhabananda Singh, Forent Minister Th Shyamkumar, Minister for Agriculture V Hangkhanlian, Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, and ' the State DGP accompanied the CM during the visit.
