Ukhrul, August 27 2025: A teenage boy drowned while swimming in the Nungshangkong River in Ukhrul today.

The deceased teen has been identified as Chihan Shimray (17), son of Late Joyson Shimray from Sihai Khunou, Kahaophung Tang, Ukhrul district.

The incident took place at around 1 pm.

The body was recovered by his cousins who went along with him at Nungshangkong River.

The body of the teen has been taken to Sihai Khunou for last rites.
