Imphal, September 10 2026: The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East, today remanded two alleged drug peddlers to eight days' police custody for further investigation after they were arrested with 2.043 kg of brown sugar at Kongba Irong Bridge last night.

The two accused, identified as Md Zalim Hussain (30), son of (L) Sirajuddin and Syed Shaoib ( 30), son of Syed Tahir Ali, both residents of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Mathak Leikai, were produced before the Court by a team of Irilbung police.

They were arrested by a joint team of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Imphal East, CRPF and Youth Against Drug and Alcohol Manipur last night.
