Imphal, September 07 2026: Chief Minister Y Khemchand has condoled the demise of social activist Saikhom Kamlakanta, former president of the All Assam Manipuri Students' Union.

In his message, Y Khemchand said that Kamlakanta's contributions to society were invaluable and he was a powerful advocate for peace and unity.

His demise is a great loss not only to his family and friends but to the entire Meitei community as well, the Chief Minister said and added that Kamlakanta had served the Manipuri community of Assam in various capacities.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Manipur, Khemchand conveyed his condolence and shared the grief of the bereaved family.
