Jiribam (Imphal East), July 10 2015 :
In support of the JCILPS movement demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit in the State, locals of Jiribam today burnt tyres in front of Irabot Statue, Lamkhai Keithel, Babupara and at the gate of Jiribam MLA Th Debendra ?, our correspondent reports.
The protesters shouted slogans like 'Implement ILP in Manipur' and 'Amend a law to protect the indigenous people of Manipur' during the demonstration.
Other than the protest, normal life in Jiribam continued undeterred by the indefinite curfew imposed in the State capital.
Markets remained open and streets were busy with commuters.
