Imphal, July 16 2025: The National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM) has claimed responsibility for shooting a man in the leg and beating a woman in an adjacent area between Sawombung and Phaknung on July 14 .

According to a press release, the outfit alleged that Soram Girish (26), son of S Loken of Nagamapal Soram Leirak, currently residing at Wangkhei, and Kumam Jemelia (25), daughter of K Sanjit of Moirang Thana Leikai, were penalized for extorting money using a fake NRFM letterhead.
